Travel documentation and entry rules

Applying for a Visitor Visa at an Australian Embassy or Consulate:

Citizens of all countries, except New Zealand, will require a visitor visa to gain entry into Australia for tourism, holidays, visiting friends or loved ones. This visa will have to be applied for outside Australia before you actually travel to the country. You can apply for it at the Australian embassy in your country or opt for an electronic visa online (ETA) if you belong to an ETA-eligible country. You can check this at check immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/976.aspx . If there is an Australian consulate in your city, you can arrange to meet in person for a visa approval. If not, you can visit an Australian embassy in the city nearest to where you live.

Note: New Zealand nationals only require a valid passport to enter Australia for a vacation (holiday).
