Some of my favourite meals have been at small, slightly off-the-radar places like Miami Marketta, where the vibe is as good as the street food stalls. Don’t skip breakfast around Main Beach either – there’s nothing like a long weekend brunch overlooking the shimmer of the ocean, with flat whites that actually taste like coffee.

Pro tip: If you’re around during the winter months, restaurants like Etsu Izakaya in Mermaid Beach come alive with cozy vibes and killer ramen. And try to plan ahead for weekends , some places, especially in Surfers Paradise, fill up quick. So, good food is everywhere, but the best meals come with a little local know-how.
