Gold Coast nightlife is a bit like the surf here , lively, sometimes a little wild, but always fun. You’ll find everything from chilled out beach bars to places where the music pulses well into the early hours. Broadbeach has some of my favourite spots if you want a more laid-back vibe with decent cocktails, like The Loose Moose or Currumbin RSL’s hidden rooftop bar. But if you’re in the mood to really get your groove on, Surfers Paradise is your go-to. The vibe there at night is electric, with spots like SinCity or Melbas where the DJs spin tunes until everyone drops.

A local pro tip? Start your night before 9pm if you want to avoid the queues, especially on weekends, because once it hits 11pm, places fill up fast. Also, keep an eye out for the ‘locals’ evenings’ some bars run midweek – it's a lot cheaper and less hectic. And don’t be shy about asking bartenders what’s good – they usually have insider suggestions on the latest drinks or secret happy hours around Gold Coast. Trust me, the city’s nightlife can surprise you once you know where to look.
