Whale Watching Gold Coast operate from Mariners Cove at the Marina Mirage on Seaworld Drive. The 'MV 2000', a 32 metre, high speed, air conditioned catamaran, is the largest whale watching vessel on the Gold Coast. It provides stability, comfort and a high speed ride to maximise the time viewing the whales. It has three viewing platforms to ensure you get great views of these magnificent mammals.
Humpback whales migrate from Antarctica to the sub tropical waters of Australia from late May for breeding and return in November. They frequently leap out of the water providing spectacular sites. The experienced crew provide commentary and can often spot the whales first alerting guests to where to look.
There are large video displays on board and complimentary morning tea is available.
Whale Watching Gold Coast operate a half day on the sea and full day includes 'half day whales and half day Island Adventure'. The full day takes in a visit to McLarens Landing on South Stradbroke Island where you can feed the kookaburras and wallabies. The is an Aussie Barbeque lunch provided and drinks available. You can spend the afternoon exploring the Island, lazing in a hammock in the sun or you can choose a number of watersports or a 4WD Eco tour of the Island (additional cost). There are kayaks and canoes available free to use. They depart in the early afternoon to return to Mariners Cove with afternoon tea provided and the opportunity to watch the crew feed wild sea eagles.
