The Museum was opened in 1995 by Senator Neville Bonner, Australia's first Aboriginal Federal Parliamentarian.
The Museum is regarded as one of Australia's leading language and cultural organisations.
Yugambeh Museum, Language and Heritage Research Centre is a major source of information of the Yugambeh cultural heritage including landscape, place and objects.
The vision of the Yugambeh Museum is to to tell the ongoing Yugambeh story, defining the spiritual and cultural traditions of the Yugambeh people, in a spirit of shared history through education programs, exhibitions and ceremonies.
If you would like to visit Yugambeh Museum, they are open every Wednesday 10am till 2pm. To visit outside of these hours please contact the museum to make an appointment.
