The Local Tavern
Gold Coast
At a glance
The Local Tavern is a pub-style venue in the central Surfers Paradise area, within Chevron Renaissance Shopping Centre on Surfers Paradise Boulevard. It offers a relaxed setting for casual meals, drinks, sports viewing and social gatherings in the Gold Coast.
The menu focuses on familiar pub food, including classic meals and parmys, with the venue placing particular emphasis on its schnitzel-based offering. Cold beers and a friendly atmosphere form part of the traditional Australian pub character, making the tavern suitable for an informal lunch, an evening meal or a drink while following live sport.
Sports are a major part of the venue’s identity, with live coverage spanning Australian and international competitions. The programming can include football codes, basketball, cricket, combat sports, American sports and other major fixtures. This makes the tavern a practical meeting place for sports fans looking for a casual setting rather than a formal dining room.
The venue also presents a regular calendar of activities and promotions. These can include trivia, live music, pool, themed food nights, wing specials, lunch offers and family-oriented promotions. The changing schedule gives the tavern a social, event-led quality alongside its everyday pub dining.
Functions are another focus. The events team caters for occasions such as birthdays, cocktail parties and corporate gatherings, with assistance available for planning the format, food and beverage requirements. The spaces can therefore suit both relaxed group catch-ups and more organised celebrations, subject to the event arrangements made with the venue.
Trading covers lunch and evening periods, with later service on Friday and Saturday. Kitchen service operates separately from the venue’s general trading hours, so checking the current schedule is sensible when planning a meal. Table bookings, takeaway, gift vouchers and a loyalty program are also available through the venue’s own services.
With pub classics, sports coverage, drinks and group functions in one Surfers Paradise location, The Local Tavern suits visitors seeking an easygoing place for a meal, a match or a social occasion.
