Jan takes a personal interest in all her clients and makes sure that they get the results they want. The classes are more like a 'group personal training' sessions. You will enjoy exercising with like-minded people who want to be more than just a number in a large public gym. At Peak Pilates & Cycle Studio you are the focus!
All classes are 60 minutes in duration and consideration is given to all levels of fitness and abilities. Some equipment used in the classes are Dyna Bands, Resistance rings, Iso toners and rollers. Discreet changing facilities, including shower and toilet are available if required.
At Peak Pilates & Cycle Studio there are 4 different classes to experience: Pilates, Cycle/Pilates, Weight Class and the Boxing/Abs class.
Pilates can be defined as a physical conditioning program emphasising flexibility, inner core stability and strength. Practised faithfully, chronic pain can be alleviated, existing conditions can be rehabilitated and a Pilates trained body has the ability to avoid future injuries. The benefits of a regular Pilates regimen are endless. If you want a flatter stomach, thinner waist, toned and shapely thighs, Pilates is the exercise for you! You don't have to be young and fit to participate, Pilates is for everyone. Whether you want to lose weight or just tone up you will be amazed with the results that Pilates will give you in a very short time. Your body will not only look better but you will feel younger.
Classes are: Tuesday 8.45am and Saturday 8.30am
The Cycle/Pilates classes reduces fat and are a fantastic workout for all fitness levels and abilities. During the class you will ride to motivating music in the comfort of an air-conditioned studio. Jan will use the music to reflect the terrain of the ride and she will inspire you to exercise to you potential. Cycling will build endurance and fitness and create a strong, shaped and toned physique. The first 30 minutes is made up of 'freestyle cycle' where the participants are taken through an ever changing ride on their individual spinning bikes. Finally, the class finishes with 30 minutes of concentrated Pilates exercises to target all the body and of course always the deep abdominal muscles. You will finish the class feeling invigorated, de-stressed and full of vitality.
Classes are: Monday, Tuesday 5.15pm, Thursday 9.00am and 5.15pm, Saturday 7.15am.
The Weights Classes are like a group personal training workout with a maximum of 10 in each class. Each person has a set of adjustable dumbbells on a stand and an exercise ball. Other equipment used in this class are medicine balls, kettle bells and resistance bands. This class was developed as a method of training people together in groups whilst giving one-on-one instruction and making the class fun and very effective. This is a resistance training class with the objective of toning and shaping the body while lowering body fat levels. Other benefits include improvement in joint mobility and strength, rehabilitation of injuries and an increase in body stability.
Classes are: Friday 8.15am
The Boxing/Abs class is also very popular and is for those who want a toning class with a high aerobic content. The class is for all fitness levels and abilities and as in all the classes the focus is on technique and working to the best of your ability. All boxing is done with a partner using gloves and pads. The class consists of a series of boxing drills finishing with a concentrated abdominal workout. The Boxing/Abs class is designed to increase cardio vascular fitness, reduce body fat and tone the entire body. Like all the classes, there is a lot of variety and while the focus is on results, it is still lots of fun.
Classes are: Wednesday 5.15pm
